Pigeon Lake, Bobcaygeon in the heart of The Kawartha Lakes District
Is one of the larger lakes in the Kawartha Lakes chain part of the tri lakes area just east of Bobcaygeon (Chemong, Buckhorn and Pigeon Lakes) Pigeon Lake is 17 miles long averaging between 1 and 2 miles wide. Big Island situated in the middle of the lake is its largest island. It has many anchorages for recreational boaters. It is fed by Sturgeon Lake to the west, and the Pigeon River to the south, as well as the Bald Lake chain to the north-east. The Gaming Nature Centre operates on the west shore of Pigeon Lake from a 100-acre property with a natural shoreline, surrounded by wetlands, forests and meadows. It is known for its top-notch muskellunge and large/small mouth bass fishery.
